In this video Mou (Moushumi Ghose, MFT) talks about getting your sexuality back after recovering from substance addiction. Addiction is often heavily tied in to our sexuality. Drugs are well known to reduce inhibition and therefore many people (often unbeknownst to them) are medicating and self-medicating with substances to overcome a variety of maladies such as social anxiety, which directly affects dating, sexuality and relationships. Too often people self-medicate and then subsequently develop addictions which can turn south very fast. Recovering from addiction often means banishing of all things one did while under the infulence and quite often sexuality goes as well, in the process. Moushumi reminds you to get back on the journey while in recovery and gives you some tips to get you on your way.
